Homecoming events [Sep. 29th, 2009|08:13 am]
Bed Races are this Friday at noon on Riverside by Woodworth. Come support your BSU Womens Rugby team in this oober thrilling event!

The line up for the team will consist of:
Max, Hopper, Keely, Vickie, and Cake

Also this Thursday is air jam! I highly recommend seeing it. It cost $5 or $8 the day of. Rugby will be sitting together if you'd like to join us. If not its fine, but if so text me to see where we're at.

Tonight is talent show! Jiggles will be in it! So go and watch her rock it!

Great job Monday night girls in opening day events!!! Way to bring the spirit of bsu women's rugby. haha! I'm pretty sure everyone there knew who we were!

Merch Update
All right if you haven't heard already, there's good news and bad about hoodies.
Bad: Due to the thinkness of the zipper down the middle, nothing could be printed for an inch down the middle. So the front design is now going  on the back and the crest on the front upper left side.
Good: For every hoodie you ordered you get $2 back due to the mass amount of orders we got! Nice girls!

Also please pay your dues girls, or set up a payment plan. It's sad. some of you ordered $60 in merch and you haven't paid $1 in dues. It's not like we're some clubs/organizations asking for $400+. Its just $60. and it goes to paying back refs, gas, tournament fees, etc. Please set up a payment plan.

I'm hoping everything will be in either this Friday or the next. Which is good considering $2000+ in merch that was ordered.

Practice and Conditioning

Girls, it might be homecoming week, but we are still having practice and conditioning. Mon. for example.... 2 people came. That is pathetic girls. Idc if you have a 9am class. get their at 7:50 and go till 8:50. Or if you have an 8am get their after class and check in. DO YOUR CARDIO.  Endurance is key. There are tracks in Irving and Ball Gym if you dont want to run outside. YOUR team is counting on YOU. Goal this year is nationals, we have a chance for it, but only if we condition. Otherwise say adios to the beach and a lil rugby mixed in between time.

Merch Results [Sep. 15th, 2009|12:47 pm]
[Current Location |Bracken]

Thanks for voting girls! Hoodie 3 and Crest 2 are the clear winners :) Nice job on the new crest Kathleen! Wicked awesome detail!

To clear up a little confusion about what will be printed on the bags and basketball shorts, i'm going to try to get the crest on the shorts with all the colors and detail. If that doesn't work (because when u compress the image to smaller some of the crest is going to just look like a blob) I'm going to put the front design with one color on the shorts and enlarge the "Women's Rugby" text, and also get higher quality shorts (because we'll save money from not using the extra red ink).

The bags can only have one color anway so, we'll put the front of the hoodie on it.

The crest is still definately going on the hood of the hoodie and I highly encourage its use in the future to help brand BSU Women's Rugby :)

One last Note: You might think about getting the merch this year (friends, fans, alum, and family included) because if all goes according to plan, i'm graduating, and therefore no more merch discounts :(

Welp have a stellar fire day!

Hopper

Practice and Games [Apr. 12th, 2009|07:59 pm]
Hi Ladies,

We have 2 weekends of games and 6 practices left.  Lets have a good turnout to each so we can improve the one area that will help the most and that is our defensive rugby.  IU exposed some things that we can focus on and definently improve before next weeks game and the tournament in Grand Rapids.

Details on next 2 weekends:

Grand Valley game will be at home.  I am still confirming kickoff time.  I am pushing for 3pm time but waiting on a response.

Grand Rapids tournament is 3 games.  2 on Saturday at 10am and noon.  1 Game on Sunday at either 9 or 11am I think.  So you will have a free afternoon on Saturday to do as you like.  Whether it be schoolwork or what have you.  With the 10am start time it would be best to leave on Friday evening as the hotels will be covered by the union.

Thanks and hope you had a happy easter.

Brodrick

Drivers for IU [Apr. 7th, 2009|12:26 pm]
 Hey y'all!

So this is a little last minute, but I need to know who can go to IU on Thursday, and who will be driving.  Also please post what time you will be available to leave campus.  I believe we play at 7 so we're shooting for leaving BSU around 4 so we can have some time to warm up before we play.  So just let me know.  Thanks ladies!

Also, just wanted to say you all did so well at the Purdue game, I'm so proud of the team!

Hi Ladies,

Practice will be held Monday at Hopper/Kat/Mafi's house at 1220 Abbott.  Most of you probably already know where it is at.

Please work to make it as it is important to watch as a group and see it in a technical point of view.

See you then,

Monday Practice [Apr. 5th, 2009|07:37 pm]
Hi Ladies,

Well change of plans due to weather.  Instead of practicing in Wet/Cold conditions outside, I would like to have our first Team Video Session to review the game from this weekend and the Marquette game at Nash Bash.

I would like everyone to see what I see when watching tape so we can focus on that for Wednesday's practice and game against IU Thursday.

Coach

PS - I am sending an email too, anyone want to volunteer their house to watch it.  It would still be at 5pm normal practice time.  I have a video projector and camcorder that I would play from or a big tv if you have it.  Let me know.

NASH BASH [Mar. 24th, 2009|09:56 am]
[Current Location |GIS Lab]
[mood | contemplative]
[music |Rent]

Hey Chicas,

Post here like vickie said when you can leave for nash bash and if you can drive, be DD, and how many you can fit.

I highly recommend looking at our Rules of Rugby section on our site: http://womensrugby.iweb.bsu.edu/rules/rules.html   It has videos, song lyrics, and more helpful tips on the game. Not to mention my fave: Crazy daily rugby tackles.

If you still haven't finished your shirt let either Hopper Kat or Mafi know if u want to come over and use the supplies at our house to finish it. We'll let u know when we'll be there.

Btdub, we usually do shirts in the spring. If anyone is up to stepping up and organizing it (list of names, sizes, collect $, and distributing apparel) let me know. If no one steps up there will be no shirts. It's not too hard and I can answer questions if you need help with it. We should probably have designs ready the Monday after Nash Bash and vote by the end of that week. Then place orders for the following week.

Much Love and Great job this past weekend!

~Hoppper
